LIFETIME ACHIEVEMT AWARD
“This year we have decided to give the award to a person that has worked as an animator, director and animation teacher. She has played an important role in Finnish animation, and is one of the pioneers in Finland, often talked about as one of the members of the “Girl Mafia” in finnish animation. She has received awards for several of her films, for her film about the artist Ellen Thesleff (Montreal 1990) “I SEEK THE SUN” and “UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS” (KETTU-award/best Finnish short film 1994). Her most recent work has been seen as the title sequence for the newly released 3D Moomin film. This years price goes to he internationally awarded animation filmmaker Antonia Ringbom who lives and works in the island of Korpo.”
