Riina Vilén is a visual artist from Finland who works mostly with stop-motion animation and video art. She graduated in 2017 from Tampere University of Applied Sciences with a BA in Fine Art. Her thesis was on animation in contemporary art and her graduation film Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is a three-channel stop-motion animation that was first premiered as a gallery installation on three screens. The film has since been screened at a number of festivals around Europe and it won the Best Student Film category at Fredrikstad Animation Festival in 2017. Riina is currently developing her new animation project.
Riina is part of the jury for the competition for nordic-baltic short- and studentfilms.
