First festival seminars revealed!
One month left until the festival, and we can reveal two of this year’s seminar guests. Two unique artist and filmmakers, who both have achieved international success with two completely different approaches to animation; Samantha Moore an animated documentary filmmaker with a PhD where she used animation to document perceptual brain states, and Nathan Jurevicius, director, illustrator and character designer with great success with games and animation.
Samantha Moore is an award winning animated documentary maker, which is interested in communicating subjects that can’t be shown in live action. She primarily works with science collaborators, from archaeologists to neuroscientists and microbiologists. In her presentation Friday at noon, she will discuss the methodology she has developed to create her unique work.
Nathan Jurevicius is a Canadian based Australian illustrator, director, toy designer, author and fine artist. His most acclaimed project to date is Scarygirl, an ever-evolving world of characters manifested through graphic novels, limited edition collectible toys, games and animation. In his seminar, Nathan will delve into his personal projects and visually discuss the thinking behind his creation process. Nathan will also look at the storytelling aspects behind his animated projects, focusing on characters and the rich worlds they inhabit.
