Per Åhlin awarded Lifetime Achievement Award
Almost 50 years ago the Swedish director, animator and illustrator Per Åhlin, debuted with his first feature Out of an Old Man’s Head (I huvet på en gammal gubbe). Since then Åhlin has been a key figure in the Swedish animation scene and have made a big impact on the industry both in Sweden and Norway, and for this he has ben awarded the Golden Gunnar Lifetime Achievement Award! The award was announced during the Opening Ceremony of Fredrikstad Animation Festival.
To further celebrate Per Åhlins contribution to the world of animation his films Resan till Melonia and Sagan om Karl-Bertil Jonssons julaftonI will be screened on Saturday. An exhibition of his work is available at Fredrikstad Kino, and in the Scandinavian Master Seminar the artwork of Per Åhlin from the 60’s until now will be presented in a conversation between Per Åhlin and the author of his biography Elisabeth Lysander.
