Gunnar Strøm

Gunnar Strøm, born 1955 in Trondheim, Norway, is Professor emeritus at Volda University College, where he established the documentary and animation study programme. Gunnar has published widely on animation, documentary and music video and is the former Vice-President and Secretary General of the International Animated Film Association ASIFA, as well as, last but not least, the founder of Fredrikstad Animation Festival. The festival’s award for the best Nordic-Baltic animation films, The Golden Gunnar, is named after him. Gunnar was awarded the most prestigious prize in Norwegian film, the Aamot-statuetten, and has been involved in many festivals worldwide, both as a programmer and a member of jury.
