Metsämarja Aittokoski is a children’s book author, director, screenwriter and producer. She has directed several popular children’s TV – series like Pikkuli, Respect!, Fire fairy and Leffatuutti Zurbaani. She wrote the children’s book ‘Fly, Pikkuli, Fly!’ and has translated many children’s books to Finnish. Metsämarja has a background as an artisan designing costumes for theater and dance performances. She is a talented storyteller and director, well known for her strong visual abilities and the creator of several media concepts, i.e. Iki-Auran aikakeikaus (Agent Aura) and Voimaa taiteesta – Auran virtaa.
Her films were selected to several festivals, among others Kettupäivät / Helsinki Short Film festival 2010, Oulu International Children’s Film Festival and Tampere International Short Film Festival. At the Short Film Festival in Italy 2002 she received the Jury’s Special Mention for her film Elisa’s House of Cards. Metsämarja Aittokoski will present her work during the Nordic Animation forum on Saturday.
