Musician and author Øystein Dolmen is highly recognised by several generations of Norwegians as ‘Knutsen’ from the duo Knutsen and Ludvigsen. From 1970 to 1986, they appeared in several television shows and radio acts, and released 11 records, mainly for children. Together with Gustav Lorentsen (Ludvigsen), he created the universe that the new animated Norwegian feature Two Buddies and a Badger (Knutsen & Ludvigsen og den fæle Rasputin, 2015) is based on. They are known for their anarchistic and absurd approach in both their lyrics and melodies. Øystein made the illustrations for the record covers, which have been a main resource for the filmmakers in creating the feature. On Friday, during the seminar Illustration and Animation, Øystein Dolmen, Eric Vogel and Qvisten Animation will talk about how they transformed Øystein’s story and drawings into a major animated feature film.
