The competition program for Animated Short Film is here! - Fredrikstad Animation Festival

The competition program for Animated Short Film is here!

This year the Fredrikstad Animation Festival is excited to announce a new competition for the Best Global Short Film Award. This program and award celebrate outstanding creative work happening in the international animation scene. In addition to the traditional Nordic-Baltic Short Film Competition programs, 13 films have been selected to compete for the Best Global Animated Short Film award and a chance to win the Grand Prix and Audience Award. This year there will be 8 awards up for grabs from the 65 short films in competition.

Read about this year’s preselection jury here.

In the Nordic-Baltic Short Film programs there are 52 films, among them are 16 Professional Films, 15 Student Films, 10 films for children, and 16 Commissioned Films. There are 13 films in the Global Short Film Competition, representing productions/co-productions from 13 countries.

“The expansion of the competition program is a natural result of the significant growth Fredrikstad Animation Festival has experienced in recent years. We warmly welcome the entire international animation community to Fredrikstad in October while maintaining a strong focus on the small countries of Northern Europe, which are at the heart of the festival’s identity,” says festival director Anders Narverud Moen.

The Nordic-Baltic feature film program will be released in September. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on the latest FAF 2024 news.
