Jai Widdowson-Jones, also known as Jai D, is a Grammy-nominated drummer, producer, songwriter and DJ from Oxford, UK. He has worked in hip-hop, soul, jazz and electronic music, with credits and collaborations spanning Jay-Z, Tyler, The Creator, Jungle Brothers, Todd Terry, Hannah Williams & The Affirmations, Willie J Healey and others.
His drumming was sampled on Jay-Z’s Grammy-nominated 4:44, an experience that helped propel him into an increasingly international career.
A seasoned touring musician, Jai has performed at Blue Note Tokyo, KEXP, Glastonbury, North Sea Jazz, Montreal Jazz Festival and more.
Alongside his work as a performer and producer, Jai runs Good Looks Entertainment, an independent UK/Japanese label and creative company focused on music releases and wider creative projects.
