Olga Pärn graduated from the Belorussian Art Academy in 2000 with a B.A. in graphic arts, specializing in etching, and received a diploma of excellence. From 1996 to 2003, Pärn worked at the Belarusfilm studio as an art director and animator, primarily using the sand animation technique, collaborating with family. From 2003 to 2005, Pärn studied at La Poudrière, School for Animation Directors, in Valence, France. Between 2004 and 2006, work continued in Paris for various animation studios as a storyboard artist. Since 2006, Olga Pärn has been living in Estonia and working at Joonisfilm studio. In collaboration with Priit Pärn, Olga co-directed and co-created six award-winning films (a total of 90 minutes). Among the 36 prizes received, 11 are Grand Prix from prestigious festivals. In 2014, Olga and Priit received the Estonian State Cultural Prize for the Best Estonian Film of the Year for Pilots on the Way Home. For this film, a unique type of sand animation technique was developed in collaboration. In 2016, Pärn served as the artistic director of the legendary Animated Dreams festival in Tallinn. Work as an expert at the audio-visual cultural endowment of Estonia took place for two periods, from 2016 to 2018, with a re-election for the period from 2020 to 2022. Pärn has conducted numerous demonstrations and workshops on sand animation and painting on glass (for the general public and animation students) in France, Finland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Japan, and China. Teaching at the animation department of the Estonian Academy of Arts began in 2007, with a role as an associate professor from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, Pärn is a professor at the Tartu University Free Arts Department alongside Priit Pärn. In 2021, Olga Pärn received the Animakom Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bilbao Animakom International Animation Community Festival, together with Priit Pärn. Pärn is actively working as an illustrator, mainly for children.
