The work of reviewing the films has been fun, but also challenging, and looking at the result, we know we've put together strong programs with excellent films. The films show the diverse impact of the international animation scene, both thematically, technically, and expressively. Over half of the films have a female director, and the program features films from 5 continents. The festival's main focus remains on the small Northern European countries through the festival's many competition programs for Nordic-Baltic animated film, where all the countries in the region are represented. We look forward to presenting the competition program to a large audience when we all gather at Fredrikstad Kino in October to celebrate the tremendous creativity presented by this year's filmmakers.
