Critics in Conversation with FIPRESCI

New to the festival this year in the FIPRESCI International Critics Prize will be awarded to one film in the Nordic-Baltic short film competition. Hear from the jury in Critics in Conversation with FIPRESCI, where they will discuss “How can a film reach international recognition?”

Panelist:
Maximilian Schäffer is a writer and musician based in Berlin, explores an eclectic range of subjects: writing about film, food, opera, and professional bull riding, while composing music inspired by figures and themes such as Aleister Crowley and Mormonism.

Chiara Gabardl is a film critic, journalist, and film scholar. Her work spans cinema, academia, and the global audiovisual industry. Her expertise extends beyond criticism: she works as a film festival consultant and media analyst for streaming platforms, and has contributed to US and Italian productions as an associate producer and format creator.

Jan Storø is a film critic and a professor of Social Pedagogy at The Faculty of Social Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University. His main interest is arthouse films and films from regions outside the dominating mainstream USA/Europe film scene.
