Below you will find information on planning your trip, including traveling to and staying in Fredrikstad.

Sal2

Fredrikstad is located 1 hour south of Oslo and 2.5 hours north of Gothenburg. You can reach Fredrikstad by train or bus from any major Scandinavian city and by bus from the Oslo Airport. Although Torp Sandefjord Airport appears nearby, it takes 3 hours to get there by public transportation.

October is one of the rainiest months in Fredrikstad, making it perfect for spending the day at the cinema. Be sure to pack accordingly.

Transport

There are frequent trains from Oslo, Halden, Gothenburg, and Copenhagen to Fredrikstad. There are also bus connections from both Oslo city center and Gardermoen Airport. The last train from Fredrikstad to Oslo is at 22:30, so it is possible to attend the whole festival and return to Oslo on Friday or Saturday night. The trains run until 1:27 to Sarpsborg (and Halden) so it’s possible to stay in our neighboring town as well.
