Dr Alex Widdowson is a British filmmaker, academic, and festival director based in Viborg. He’s a post-doctoral research fellow at Université de Moncton, working remotely with autistic self-advocates on an anti-stigma video game. In 2024 he completed his PhD on animated documentary ethics, but he is best known for his award-winning animated films about neurodiversity, disability and psychology. He leads the team that organises Factual Animation Film Festival and is currently working on his first feature, an animated documentary about the Neurodiversity Movement.
