Iiti Yli-Harja

Iiti Yli-Harja (b.1987) is a film director, musician and a doctoral researcher at Aalto University's Department of Film. In her stop motion animations, fiction and documentary intertwine to explore the raw beauty, humor, and complexity of our imperfect humanity. Yli-Harja has received many awards and recognitions, including Finland's premier Jussi Award in 2023 for All My Mom’s Phone Calls (2021), the Risto Jarva Award for BLUSH (2022) in the same year, Peer Award by SELO (Inspiring Film Director of the Year 2024), and the Spotlight Artist of the Year accolade at the 2024 Tampere Film Festival.
