Oskar Östergren Njajta

Oskar Östergren Njajta (b. 1976) is a Sami filmmaker from Dearna/Tärnaby. He was educated at Nordens Dokumentärfilmskola (2002-2004) and has since worked in many positions within filmmaking as founding partner of the production company Bautafilm AB. He has been in the forefront in the growth of Sami film, for example as chairman in Sami Filmworkers Association (SFS) and as co-producer for the feature film SAMI BLOOD by Amanda Kernell (2016). As script writer Oskar was part of winning Swedish TV-price Kristallen 2025 for the family drama serie SNÖDRÖMMAR, the Swedish christmas calendar 2024. Oskar is the writer/director of the upcoming project SAAJVE, the first ever Sami animation film aimed for cinema release.
