By submitting through the network, your film will be considered not only for FAF 2026 but also for:
- Viborg Animation Festival (Denmark)
- BLON Animation and Games Festival (Lithuania)
- REX Animation Festival (Sweden)
Filmmakers, producers, and distributors can submit their films through one FilmFreeway account and be considered for every competition category they are eligible for.
FAF is keeping its competition categories but simplifying the submission process. The FAF 2026 Short Film Categories are:
- Nordic-Baltic Short Film
- Nordic-Baltic Student Film
- Nordic-Baltic Commissioned Film
- Nordic-Baltic Children's Film
- Nordic-Baltic Young Audience Film
- Global Short Film
- New award, to be announced soon
Mark your calendars for the new deadlines: 3 May for the Professional Short Film competition and 15 June for the Commissioned and Student Film competitions. Feature film submissions open on 16 June.
