Masterclass with Bill Wise
“Dream productions”: adapting feature film pipeline for streaming. Exploring how Pixar leverages new technologies to optimize productions.
Bill Wise (b.1964) has been working with 3D Computer graphics since 1987. Graduating college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, he was quickly drawn to the intersection of art, film and technology in the field as it blossomed during the late 80s and early 90s. He joined Pixar in 1994 for the first Toy Story film, and over the next 29 years worked on award-winning films such as the Incredibles, Wall-E, Brave, Finding Dory, and the Incredibles 2, as well as many short films and special projects. Since 2019 he has been working in the streaming space, as a VFX Supervisor for Pixar projects for Disney+, and just this summer left Pixar to focus on teaching.
Masterclass with Rasmus Sivertsen & Raymond Kreppene
Tech that saves a buck – Exploring hands-on experiences and tools for streamlining CGI production.
Rasmus A. Sivertsen (b.1972) is one of Scandinavia ́s most prolific directors of animated films. He studied animation at Volda University College (1993-95) and has been co-owner of Qvisten Animation since 1996. He is a veteran in animation and has directed several feature films, TV-series and commercials in his near 30-year long career. Many of which he has gotten both national and international awards and acclaim for. His feature film directing credits include 13 titles, among them the box office hits about Louis & Luca. Three of his films has been selected for the Generation Kplus competition in Berlin Filmfest.
Raymond Kreppene is the Chief Technology Officer at Qvisten Animation, where he integrates cutting-edge technology into animation productions. When he got his first computer at the age of 9, the interest in computers began. Just a year later, he found his interest in programming. Simultaneously, Raymond had a strong passion for music and a desire to combine his creative side with the love for computers. In 1999, Raymond stumbled upon 3D graphics, which ultimately became his lifelong passion.

Masterclass with François Narboux
MIAM! animation – Real-time engines: A game-changer for producers, creatives, and sustainability. An insight into Miam! Animation use of real time engines in Animation to foster greener, more creative workflows.
François Narboux graduated in Applied Arts, François has been working in animation for 25 years. He has worked on around thirty projects as an animator, lead animator, or director. He recently directed the series Edmond and Lucy (52 x 11’) produced by MIAM! animation, one of the first industrial-format series produced in real-time 3D, for which he contributed to the development of the production pipeline.
Lecture by Dr. Mhairi Aitken
AI Ethics in the Animation Industry. Key Considerations to Inform AI Practices in the Creative Industries.
Dr. Mhairi Aitken is senior ethics fellow in the Public Policy Programme at The Alan Turing Institute, a visiting senior lecturer at the Digital Environment Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London, and an honorary senior fellow at the University of Wollongong, Australia. At the Alan Turing Institute Aitken leads research on children and AI, as well as working across a range of topics including data justice, ethics of generative AI and emerging AI policy and regulation. Aitken was included in the 2023 international list of “100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics” and is a frequent contributor to media discussions around AI and data.

The Production Day is organized by Animasjon Norge, a subdivision of Virke Produsentforeningen with Tonje Skar Reiersen and Thomas Malmonte as project managers, and in collaboration with Fredrikstad Animation Festival. The Norwegian Film Institute, Virke Produsentforeningen and Viken Filmsenter support this event.
