Albin Nilsson is a Sweden-based animator and visual artist working in stop-motion and 2D animation. His practice is rooted in surrealism, exploring themes of existential tension, disorientation, and the fragile boundary between inner and outer realities. Drawn to tactile processes, he works with physical materials and handcrafted techniques, embracing imperfection and presence in contrast to digital uniformity. Working independently, Nilsson moves between animation, sculpture, and painting, building introspective worlds that linger between the poetic and the unsettling. The Ladder is a solo stop-motion short film.
