Join MASTERCLASS JUNIOR and Discover how a film is made!

MasterClass Junior is perfect for students who want to dive into film, animation, and visual storytelling.

Film director Trond Jacobsen and animator Hans Jørgen Sandnes will show you how to create your own animation, from the first idea to the finished film. You will get a quick introduction to storyboarding, sound design, editing, character design, and animation, and you will get to know tools you can use yourself.

You will see how we are making the film KakeLakk right now, and you can ask us anything you like.

After the workshop, you will get a sneak peek at KakeLakk, three years before it reaches cinemas. KakeLakk will be a film full of humour and suspense. It is currently finished as a "rough-draft film" (or "animatic"), which means you can see the whole story, complete with sound, drawings, and some animation. A few scenes are already fully animated, while most are drawings edited together like a living comic strip.

You will meet:
Trond Jacobsen and Ilze Burkovska Jacobsen, film directors behind films and series such as My Favourite War, Sånn er jeg og sånn er det ("That's How I Am and That's How It Is"), and RoachCoach. Hans Jørgen Sandnes has illustrated the books about Detektivbyrå nr. 2 (Detective Agency No. 2), Krypto, and Familien von Humbug (The von Humbug Family), and has animated Alf Prøysen's children's songs for NRK Super.
