What’s happening in the far North?
At New Nordic Animation, producers, filmmakers, and studios from across the Nordic region will present their latest projects, share how they collaborate across borders, and discuss the development of new IPs and series. In collaboration with the producer network Nordic Animation, FAF has curated a diverse program that brings together visionary directors and producers of animated audiovisual content from all the Nordic countries.
From Iceland, Thorey Mjallhvit H. Omarsdottir will present the journey her original IP, Ormhildur the Brave (Ormhildarsaga) and her personal adventure that has span over 10 years to create this graphic novel universe that was serialized in 2026 and discuss what is next for Ormhildur.
Bivrost will present the Norwegian - Latvian co-production, Roach Coach. Both the director, Ilze Burkovska Jacobsen and producer, Trond Jacobsen, will take part in this presentation and give a sneak peek at the completed animatic for this upcoming feature.
Swedish Producer and Scriptwriter, Carolina Drab, will present her in-development preschool series, Puck. BCD Film shows what the Nordic storytelling is at it’s finest, a modern approach to traditionally storytelling, reflecting the real lives of children.
Mia Palmgren, producer at the Finnish studio, Character House will present their new series in development. This young adults series, Aliens are F*cking Real, will be first published as books. Her talk will highlight IP development in multiple channels at once.
At the Danish studio, Sun Creature, they move between long form films and series, shorts and branded projects and have found that the boundaries between these formats are much more fluid than they might seem. Christine Burmeister will talk about their approach - what stays the same regardless of format and what fundamentally changes.
